Vico Sotto vows not to fire Pasig City Hall workers
On his first day in office, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto on Monday vowed that he would not fire any city hall employees, but asked that they cooperate with his leadership.
According to Mark Salazar's report on GMA News TV program Balitanghali, city workers filling the Pasig City Hall quadrangle as Sotto assure casual, contractual, and job-order workers that they would keep their jobs despite the transition in leadership.
Sotto would also keep most of the department heads in the local government unit.
Banners left by former Mayor Bobby Eusebio's supporters had touted how the city was in the black by P15 million.
However, Sotto said that this still amounted to fiscal mismanagement given that the money was left idle in banks instead of being utilized to the benefit of Pasig residents.
Among the pressing concerns Sotto had promised to focus on were the traffic and illegal drugs problems. — Joviland Rita/DVM, GMA News
