Flies bug Nueva Ecija townspeople; locals blame poultry farm

Mosquito nets have suddenly become a must in a barangay in Santo Tomas, Nueva Ecija, where swarms of flies have been annoying residents for several days.

According to John Consulta's Saturday report on GMA News TV's Balitanghali, the folks at Barangay Aliaga were blaming a nearby poultry farm for the fly problem.

The farm, however, insisted the facility was well-maintained and was even free of chickens as they just finished their seasonal slaughter.

Local Josie Gomez claimed flies had been bugging them non-stop for four days.

Residents also took their complaints to social media, where they posted hair-raising photos of fly paper taken over by bugs, as well as the mosquito nets they needed for a good night's sleep.
