Four-year-old boy dies of meningococcemia in Davao City

A four-year old died of meningococcemia in Davao City, Health Secretary confirmed on Monday.

“It’s true. There’s a 4-year old boy who died of meningococcemia,” Duque said.

Duque said health officials in the city had done "contact tracing."

"Meaning they went to the school where the boy attended school. And they have given prophylaxis to the hospital staff who attended or got exposed to the case of meningococcemia,” Duque said.

He warned that the disease was “very contagious.” —NB, GMA News
