2 alleged communist leaders, member nabbed in Cagayan
Two alleged communist leaders were arrested in Gattaran, Cagayan on Tuesday night, police said Wednesday.
Police identified the alleged communist leaders as one Violeta Ricardo and Cristina Garcia.
The two were nabbed by virtue of four warrants of arrest for murder and a warrant of arrest for violation of Republic Act No. 6539 or the Anti-Carnapping Act of 1972.
The two, who were supposedly leaders of the Komiteng Rehiyon in Cagayan Valley, were brought to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group office in Camp Adduru for booking and documentation.
In a separate operation in Tuguegarao City, a most wanted individual who was allegedly connected to the communist group was arrested by virtue of four warrants of arrest for the crimes of murder, direct assault with murder, frustrated homicide and robbery.
Authorities identified her as Delilah Padilla, an alleged staff member of the southern front of Komiteng Rehiyon in Cagayan Valley.
Padilla was also brought in Camp Adduru for proper disposition and documentation. —Anna Felicia Bajo/KBK, GMA News
