Val De Leon appointed as Central Visayas police chief —PNP spokesman

Police Brigadier General Valeriano De Leon was appointed as the new chief of the Police Regional Office 7 (PRO-7).

Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesman Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac confirmed this to GMA News Online on Wednesday.

De Leon, who is a member of the Philippine Military Academy "Makatao" Class of 1989, replaced Police Brigadier General Debold Sinas.

Sinas was installed as the new chief of the National Capital Region Police Office.

Prior to his appointment, De Leon was the chief of the Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO).

Banac said Police Colonel Westrimundo Obinque would be the acting chief of the FEO following De Leon's new post. —LDF, GMA News
