'Heat transfer' may have started second fire at Gaisano Mall —BFP
The second fire that hit Gaisano Mall in General Santos City may have been caused by heat transfer from portion of the building that was affected by the first fire, a city fire marshal said on Friday.
According to a report by Vonne Aquino on Unang Balita, Chief Fire Inspector Reginald Legaste said that the second fire occurred at the mall's stock room where fabrics and other flammable materials were stored.
The mall was first hit by a fire on Wednesday night after a 6.3-magnitude earthquake struck Mindanao. It took authorities 18 hours to declare fire out.
Six hours later, the second fire started. It was put out at 10 p.m. on Thursday.
Firefighters are still on standby at the mall's compound as investigation continues. —Dona Magsino/KBK, GMA News
