13-year-old electrocuted, dies while trying to rescue friend during Ursula’s onslaught

A 13-year-old was killed in Baybay City, Leyte after he tried to rescue a friend who was pinned by a banana tree during the onslaught of Typhoon Ursula on Christmas Eve.

According to a report on "State of the Nation with Jessica Soho", Arwin Jumoc died after he was electrocuted during the rescue try.

The tree, according to the report, was caught in a live electric wire.

Arwin's remains was later found on the riverside. His body was brought to their home on Christmas Day.

His mother said Arwin would always think about others before himself.

Before he died, she said Arwin even gave her the only cash gift that he got for Christmas—all P50 of it. —NB, GMA News
