Bus plunges off cliff in Sorsogon; no serious casualties

A passenger bus fell on a cliff in Matnog, Sorsogon on Monday, but no one was seriously hurt, according to the police.

According to the Police Regional Office V, an Eagle Star passenger bus, with body number 8168, fell on a cliff in Barangay Hidhid while maneuvering to a descending sharp curve lane at 9:50 a.m.

The bus, which was from Manila, was driven by one Felix Calipes, 37.

Authorities said all passengers were safe and that no major casualty was reported.

Some passengers obtained only minor injuries, police said.

They were immediately brought to the nearest hospital, police added.

Meanwhile, Calipes was brought to Matnog Municipal Police Station for proper disposition. —Anna Felicia Bajo/KBK, GMA News
