Duterte to lead distribution of farm inputs to Region 12 farmers

President Rodrigo Duterte is expected to lead the distribution of farm inputs to farmers in Region 12 on Friday.

Department of Agriculture regional director for the Soccsksargen region Engineer Mila Casis said the cost of farm inputs to be distributed is at P58 million.

Likewise, Casis said the total amount is broken down into P16.8 million for agricultural projects in North Cotabato; P11.7M for South Cotabato province; P19.4M for Sultan Kudarat; and P10.1M para sa Sarangani province.

Further, she said the biggest chunk of the fund will come from the Rice Program from DA region 12 —which is intended for the acquisition of six mini-four-wheel-drive tractors, five rice combine harvesters; and 27 hand tractors.

Aside from these, President Duterte will also distribute cash cards for P5,000 to 100 framers from Libungan, Cotabato. 

Agriculture Secretary William Dar will be with the President for the visit in Pigcawayan town, reports said.

The visit in Pigcawayan is Dterte's second travel to North Cotabato this January, the first was on January 3 where he visited the victims of the series of quakes in the province. —Malu Cadelina Manar/LBG, GMA News
