Last batch of Chinese tourists leave Kalibo Monday night amid nCoV scare
The last batch of Chinese tourists from Wuhan are scheduled to leave Kalibo International Airport at past 8 p.m. on Monday night.
According to JP Soriano's report on "24 Oras", they will not include the child from Wuhan who exhibited flu-like symptoms.
Two children from Shanghai are also still under investigation for similar symptoms.
All three are under isolation at the Aklan Provincial Hospital and are among the 11 patients under investigation in connection with the novel coronavirus.
"Wala na silang lagnat but still they have to be observed if there’s progression of respiratory symptoms like cough and cold," provincial health officer Dr. Cornelio Cuachon, Jr., said.
“They were started on anti microbial or antibiotic treatment ibig sabihin they were treated as bacterial infection not viral infection," he added.
The child is a six-year-old girl who arrived from Wuhan last week.
She had no symptoms when she arrived and, thus, was allowed to join her parents in Boracay.
After a day, the girl had fever and cough and was brought back to Kalibo.
The two girls from Shanghai, aged five and three, arrived on Sunday.
They were brought straight to the hospital and were no longer allowed to proceed to the resort island.
Swab samples taken from the three children have been sent to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine for confirmatory tests. —NB, GMA News
