Norzagaray police official nabbed for allegedly using detainee as driver


The deputy chief of the Norzagaray Municipal Police Station in Bulacan was arrested on Saturday after allegedly using a detainee as his personal driver.

Arrested by agents of the Philippine National Police Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group was Police Captain Wilfredo Dizon, Jr., according to PNP-IMEG director Police Colonel Ronald Lee.

Authorities also arrested the detainee identified as Resty Cabacang, 49, a resident of Sapang Palay, San Jose Del Monte City.

Cabacang was supposed to be detained for charges of serious physical injuries.

Lee said PNP-IMEG officers together with the PNP Special Action Force's 82nd Special Action Company and the Bulacan Police Provincial Office’s Provincial Intelligence Branch intercepted Dizon and Cabacang in front of the Norzagaray police station at 3:25 p.m.

Dizon was found inside a Toyota Hi-Ace van being driven by Cabacang.

Lee said he will recommend charges of grave misconduct against Dizon. —KG, GMA News
