2 barangay health workers, a kagawad dead as truck slams Bukidnon checkpoint

Two barangay health workers and a kagawad died after a truck crashed into a quarantine checkpoint in Maramag, Bukidnon on Saturday.

The news was confirmed to Super Radyo dzBB by Maramag, Bukidnon Police.

Police said the truck was coming from Don Carlos town when the incident took pace at a checkpoint in Barangay North Poblacion of Maramag. 

Authorities identified the victims as barangay health workers Jumalyn Buhayon and Margie Maribao, and barangay kagawad Alden Gaitera.

One of their companions is now in critical condition in a hospital, according to the police.

The truck driver, Jemuel Ompok, is now in police custody and has kept his silence.

Police said he was found to be driving under the influence of liquor.
