Bulacan records its 3rd COVID death; patient's test result came out 12 days after demise
A 60-year-old woman from San Jose del Monte, Bulacan has died due to complications brought about by coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) on Thursday, bringing the death toll in Bulacan to 19 cases.
The Bulacan Provincial Health Office said the patient died last March 15 but the results of her COVID-19 test, which turned out to be positive, were released on March 26, 2020.
A sample was taken from the patient on March 14, one day before the patient died.
This means that 12 days passed before the test results were available.
As of Thursday, the health office has recorded 10 COVID-19 cases in the province, and three patients have died.
The remaining seven patients are receiving medical treatment in various hospitals in Bulacan and Metro Manila.
Bulacan Cong. Henry Villarica, who tested positive for COVID-19, has not yet been included int eh official record of the health office.
The health office reports that there are 266 Persons Under Investigation (PUIs) and 1,491 Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs). -- BAP, GMA News
