Over 70 ECQ violators, including senior citizens, nabbed in Baguio City


 

Authorities in Baguio City have arrested more than 70 individuals for allegedly violating the enhanced community quarantine rules, according to a report on 24 Oras Bulletin on Tuesday.

Baguio City Police Chief Colonel Allen Rey Co said about 30 residents were nabbed over the weekend, while more than 40 violators were arrested on Monday.

Co said some of the violators were minors and senior citizens.

They will face charges for violation of the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act.

The national government has implemented the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon until April 30 to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Baguio City currently has 18 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with one fatality and 12 recoveries.

So far, the Philippines has 6,459 cases, including 428 deaths and 613 recoveries. --Ma. Angelica Garcia/KBK, GMA News
