Typhoon Ambo leaves trail of destruction in Eastern Samar


Typhoon Ambo unleashed its fury past noontime on Thursday, blowing off roofs of houses and knocking down branches of trees as it barreled through Eastern Samar's Santa Monica town, one of the places hit by the cyclone as it made its first landfall at 12:15 p.m.

 

Ambo's eye first passed through San Policarpo town in Eastern Samar

It made another landfall early Friday morning over Burias Island in Masbate province, state weather bureau PAGASA said in its 5 a.m. severe weather bulletin

The typhoon is forecast to move towards the Ragay Gulf before making landfall over the Bondoc Peninsula in Southern Quezon on Friday morning. —LBG, GMA News
