Biñan LGU distributes laptops, TVs to schools for online learning
The local government of Biñan, Laguna on Wednesday distributed laptops and televisions to public school officials in preparation for a two-tiered approach to learning amid the coronavirus pandemic.
According to John Consulta’s report on “24 Oras,” almost 200 laptops and 200 75-inch smart televisions were handed over to help teachers prepare for online teaching.
Mayor Arman Dimaguila also said that the local government plans to connect the entire city to the internet before the end of July.
“Fiber optic ito. Halimbawa ang gagamit ngayong oras, mga elementary. Through their cellphones, ite-text natin ang password so makaka-open sila,” he said.
Meanwhile, students who do not have gadgets for online learning will receive printed learning modules from the Department of Education.
Teaching will also be done through Biñan’s local radio stations.
Dimaguila urged parents to take on a more active role in supervising their children’s learning at home.
Tulungan niyo po kami,” he said. — Julia Mari Ornedo/BM, GMA News
