Police kill 3 alleged kidnap group members in Quezon province raid

Three suspected members of a kidnapping group were killed in a police operation early Thursday morning in Tiaong, Quezon.

"Unang Balita" reported that the main target of the operation escaped, and three of his cohorts were killed after shooting it out with police operatives.

Armed with a search warrant, Tiaong Police anti-kidnapping group operatives raided the safe house of the target identified as Jaime Moog, in Barangay Behia at about 2:30 a.m.

Police were in search of illegal firearms but the raid also yielded shabu.

An initial police report identified two of the slain suspects as Rico Moog (a former patrolman), and a certain Jose Altaria. Authorities were still trying to identify the third fatality after the raid.

Seized during the operation were various firearms, some suspected shabu, and drug paraphernalia.

According to the police, Jaime Moog is a high-value target with P500,000 reward for his head. The suspect is listed as national most wanted under the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
