Cebu City logs 191 new COVID-19 cases, total rises to 5,141
Cebu City on Monday announced 191 new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), raising the total to 5,141.
The Cebu City Health Department (CHD) also said total recoveries rose to 2,713 after 114 more patients recovered from the respiratory illness, while the death toll climbed to 169 with 13 new fatalities.
The CHD said there are also 2,259 active cases undergoing treatment or quarantine.
Cebu City still has the highest number of infections nationwide, followed by Quezon City with 3,255 cases as of Sunday morning.
Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., chief implementer of the government’s COVID-19 response, earlier said stringent restrictions in Cebu City must remain to stem the spread of the virus.
Meanwhile, President Rodrigo Duterte is expected to announce his latest directives regarding quarantine restrictions on Tuesday. —LDF, GMA News
