1 killed as jeep falls into ravine in Benguet – report


At least one person was killed after a passenger jeep loaded with vegetables fell off a ravine, while its driver was negotiating a turn in Benguet province, Church-run Radio Veritas reported on Sunday. The report said the jeep was heading toward La Trinidad town from Kapangan town. The report was based on sketchy information from the Philippine National Police headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City. Veritas did not immediately identify the fatality, but said that there were other passengers who were rushed to the emergency room of the Benguet General Hospital in La Trinidad. Kapangan is a fifth-class town with a population of 18,137 people in 3,371 households. - GMANews.TV
