3 high-ranking CPP personalities nabbed in Negros Occidental –Army
Three alleged ranking personalities of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army regional committee were arrested in a joint Army-Police operation in Negros Occidental on July 30.
In a press release, the Army's 79th Infantry Battalion in Negros Occidental said the three CPP-NPA personalities were nabbed in Sitio Victory, Barangay Minapasok in Calatrava town at about 5 p.m. last Thursday.
It said that troops of the 79th IB, together with the elements of 6th Special Action Battalion of PNP-Special Action Force and the Calatrava Municipal Police Station responded to a joint inter-agency operation following reports from concerned citizens from the said barangay.
Suspected CPP-NPA personalities identified as Cristell Abordo alias Dulay, Mary dem Forones alias Nancy, and Rossine Enyong alias Lemay were arrested, the Army said.
Abordo is reportedly the Regional Communication/Intelligence of the CPP and former Medical Staff of Regional Strike Force. Forones is Regional Intelligence Secretary and Executive Committee Member; and Enyong is a platoon commander.
Seized from the suspects were: one an 4 rifle, three .38 revolver, four rifle grenades, eight cellular phones, medical supplies, and subversive documents.

According to the Army, the three are already in the custody of the Calatrava Municipal Police Station for proper disposition and filing of appropriate charges.
Lt. Col. Gerard Alvaran, 79thIB Commanding Officer lauded the successful joint inter-agency operation that led to the apprehension of said NPA personalities, with the active help and cooperation from the peace-loving residents of Barangay Minapasok.
“It is a clear manifestation that the people of Calatrava are really tired of being pestered by the presence of the CPP-NPA terrorists who extort money and recruit innocent citizens in their area,” he said.
“While the joint AFP-PNP operations will continue to pursue these communist terrorists, I once again urge the victims of their deceptive recruitment in Northern Negros to return to the folds of the law, avail of the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) and live a normal life in the mainstream society with your families and loved ones,” Alvaran added. —LBG, GMA News
