Radio DJ gunned down in Sorsogon

A radio disk jockey was shot dead in Bulan, Sorsogon on Thursday night.

According to the local police, Padaba FM Radio disc jockey Ric Ian Bill de Leon was shot in the head and body by an unidentified assailant at around 6:30 p.m. in Barangay Managa-naga.

De Leon was rushed to the Bulan Medicare Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Authorities recovered eight empty shells of a yet unknown caliber from the crime scene.

Police said the motive for the shooting was still being determined.

“The Task Force is closely coordinating with the authorities in the investigation of the case. No stone will be left unturned and we will not rest until we have the murderers behind bars,” said Undersecretary Joel Egco, executive director of the Presidential Task Force on Media Security. — DVM, GMA News
