Eight food stalls in Tagbilaran City, Bohol closed due to COVID-19
TAGBILARAN CITY- At least eight food stalls near a government hospital here were closed on Saturday for disinfection amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) crisis.
The move came after a watcher of a COVID-19 positive patient, who was admitted at the Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH) in Tagbilaran City reportedly roamed outside hospital premises apparently unaware that he too was positive of the virus.
Tagbilaran City Mayor Baba Yap on Saturday cautioned constituents that based on continuing contact tracing efforts, it was learned that the watcher ate at one of the food stalls near the hospital on August 19 and 20.
He also tried to enter a nearby mall, but the establishment was yet to open.
Personnel from the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) also disinfected the front of the GCGMH, Miguel M. Parras and M.H. Del Pilar streets.
At least 8 food stalls were closed for quarantine and the staff members were swabbed for polymerase chain reaction or PCR test.
Bohol presently has 35 active cases, 102 recoveries and 7 deaths. Of the active cases, 29 cases were results of community transmissions.
