Nueva Ecija town mayor’s secretary shot dead
Police suspect that the mess over the impounding of trucks with quarry materials may have prompted the killing of a secretary of a town mayor in Nueva Ecija province, according to a report by radio dzBB on Sunday. The report also said that authorities were also trying to get witnesses who could shed light on the killing of the victim, initially identified as Alexander Santiago Silva, 52. Silva was the secretary of San Antonio town mayor Arvin Salonga. Initial investigation showed Silva was talking to two men when the gunman approached and shot the victim. The bullet hit Silva in the nape, and exited the victimâs neck. The suspect walked away after the shooting. DzBB quoted investigators as saying that before the shooting, Silva had reportedly ordered the impounding of three trucks loaded with quarry materials.
