Man who stabbed employers caught in Batangas after 5 years in hiding

A man who stabbed to death his female employer and wounded the latter's husband was arrested by authorities in Batangas five years after the crime.

Tension was high when suspect Ronald Yupio Jr. came face to face with the kin of the couple, as seen in a "24 Oras" report by John Consulta on Friday.

According to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), in 2015 the suspect attempted to rob a fish pond in Candaba, Pampanga where he was working .

All in all parang 60 and 70 stab wounds ang na-sustain ng ating victims dito, namatay ang isa, naka-survive naman ang lalaki," NBI-Anti-Fraud and Action Division (AFAD) chief Palmer Mallari said.

Yupio escaped and moved from one place to another.  He even taunted authorities with a social media post, saying, "Hanapin nyo 'ko."

NBI-AFAD caught Yupio in Ibaan, Batangas.

At noong magkaroon tayo ng tamang information, that's the time we effected the arrest doon sa Ibaan, Batangas," Mallari said.

Yupio admitted his crime.
