Discoloration observed in part of El Nido beach

A part of El Nido beach in Palawan turned dark after the water from a nearby canal was released, according to a report on Saksi on Thursday.

According to an official of Barangay Masagana, the canal was filled up with siltation as a result of soil erosion that caused the obstruction of the canal.

The grey water from the canal that reached the sea resulted to the discoloration of the beach area.

An official from the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources that the water is not sewer water or mire.

Officials also assured that canals are regularly cleaned and barangays are constantly monitored for pollution. -- BAP, GMA News
