Villafuerte described Typhoon Rolly's impact on Camarines Sur as being "stronger than Yolanda" - the super typhoon that devastated large swaths of the Eastern Visayas in 2013.
"We evacuated 160,000 families last night that’s why lives [were] protected," Villafuerte said.
He also reported that there was no power supply in the area amid the calamity.
According to the 2 p.m. bulletin of state weather bureau PAGASA, Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 4 was raised over the northern portion of Camarines, which includes the towns of Sipocot, Lupi, Ragay, and Del Gallego.
Meanwhile, the rest of the province was under TCWS No. 3.
