78-year-old engineer in Cavite builds elevated parking in an alley
A 78-year-old engineer designed and built an elevated garage in a narrow alley in Bacoor, Cavite that went viral on social media, according to Ivan Mayrina’s report on “24 Oras.”
The “skyway garage” was Florentino Gabrinao’s quarantine project, which he started in May and finished in July. It allowed a compact van to be parked on a ramp in a narrow alley that was less than two meters wide.
“Mag inspect man sila talagang pasado, ganon ‘yun. At saka for safety ng pamilya ko kailangan talaga matibay,” he added.
Before the family constructed the skyway garage, they used an elevated walkway to be able to get inside their home when they parked the car.
Kung before nasa ibabaw, ngayon naman sa ilalim,” Geraldine, the car owner, said.
To get down from the skyway garage, the driver will get off the car through the back and go down the ramp using a steel ladder.
Netizens were also amazed at how the driver expertly parked the car.
