Galvez recommends Davao City be placed under GCQ again

National Task Force Against COVID-19 chief implementer Carlito Galvez Jr. has recommended that Davao City be again placed under general community quarantine (GCQ), according to a GMA News Unang Balita report on Friday.

At present, Davao City is under modified general community quarantine but was declared as a "restricted local government unit" on November 18 due to the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases.

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte said they would follow the recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases.

The city has recorded 5,541 COVID-19 cases, of which close to 2,000 are active.  —KBK, GMA News
