Dolores, Quezon police chief relieved from post over alleged violation of health protocols


The chief of Dolores Municipal Police Station in Quezon province was administratively relieved from his post for allegedly violating  health protocols amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Quezon Police identified the official as Police Captain Joseph Ian Java.

Authorities said Java is undergoing investigation for violating Philippine National Police's directive on the ban against parties and gatherings during the holiday season.

Quezon Police did not provide further data on Java's supposed infraction.

Police Lieutenant Almario Dela Rosa has been designated as the officer-in-charge of the Dolores MPS.
