Reprimanded motorcycle-riding suspects gun down Pampanga tanod
A barangay tanod manning a checkpoint in Floridablanca, Pampanga was gunned down by motorcycle-riding suspects he had earlier reprimanded for not wearing face masks.
According to Jasmine Galban’s Tuesday report on GMA Regional TV "Balitang Amianan," the victim was identified as 59-year-old Joseph Labonera Jr. from Barangay del Carmen.
CCTV footage showed Labonera at his post when the two suspects roared up and opened fire on him.
The suspects could not be identified as their faces were covered.
"Dahil sa sobrang higpit, grabe naman sila. Sobrang higpit. Para hindi sila nasisita, sumunod sila sa health protocol. Hindi ‘yung patayin nila yung tao," Barangay Captain Joel Santos said.
Police investigators were attempting to identify the suspects.
Meanwhile, Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda offered a P300,000 reward for anyone who could provide information on the suspects’ identities. — Julia Mari Ornedo/DVM, GMA News
