Carnapping suspect nabbed in Bulacan, says PNP

A man suspected to be involved in carnapping has been arrested by the Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group on Thursday in Bulacan, the PNP said on Saturday.

PNP chief Police General Debold Sinas identified the suspect as Christian Manalili Aguas, 35.

Sinas said operatives of the Bulacan Provincial Highway Patrol Team conducted a three-day stakeout, operational research and case monitoring in Pasay City and Cavite before the suspect was arrested in Barangay Inaon in Pulilan.

The PNP said Aguas is their 8th most wanted carnapping suspect.

According to the PNP-HPG, a warrant of arrest has been previously issued by Malolos Regional Trial Court Branch 22 Presiding Judge Grace Ruiz against the suspect in connection with two separate criminal cases for carnapping and qualified theft.

In one case, the suspect was accused of carnapping a Toyota Hi-Ace GL on July 5, 2019 in Pulilan.

"The long arms of the law continue to catch up with hardened criminals since there is no letup for cops to hunt them down," Sinas said.

PNP HPG director Police Brigadier General Alexander Tagum said the suspect will be presented before the RTC for the commitment order to be issued. —KG, GMA News
