6-year-old girl found dead, half-naked at Sultan Kudarat riverside

A 6-year-old girl was found dead and half-naked beside a river in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat after she went missing.

According to Vonne Aquino’s report on “24 Oras Weekend” on Saturday, Maria Luciana Dagohoy was found with her shorts pulled down and with bruises on her head.

The Sultan Kudarat Provincial Office said the victim and her parents attended her cousin’s birthday party in Barangay Kulambat on Wednesday evening.

Her parents noticed she went missing at around 8 p.m. Though they searched for the victim all night, she was found dead the next day.

“Allegedly, pinapalagan nila, na nasunduan nila na mayroong rape but hindi pa natin masasabi dahil wala pang result ‘yung autopsy,” Police Lieutenant Colonel Joel Fuerte said.

Investigators suspect that there was foul play involved. However, they do not discount the possibility that the victim could have drowned.

“Aside from the cadaver, walang mga masasabi natin na mga instrument na ginamit sa krimen. Aside lang doon sa shorts, sa pants ng bata na nakababa,” Fuerte said.

“Tinitignan din natin kung nalunod ‘yung bata, may posibilidad na talagang bababa ‘yung pants niya dahil sa current ng tubig,” he added.

Dagohoy’s parents, however, believe she was raped.

“Ewan ko sino man siya, sana sumuko na siya. Demonyo siya. Bakit ganon ang ginawa niya sa anak namin. Hindi siya papatulugin ng Diyos,” her mother said.

Police meanwhile are looking to identify the last person with the victim before she went missing.

“Humihingi ako ng hustisya para sa kaniya. Hustisya ang hiling ng aming pamilya. Sana mahuli siya,” she said. — DVM, GMA News
