Public school in Albay repaired by Kapuso Foundation after Typhoon Rolly damage
A public school in Sto. Domingo, Albay which sustained damage during the onslaught of Typhoon Rolly last year has been repaired thanks to the GMA Kapuso Foundation.
According to a report on "24 Oras," Sto. Domingo Central School previously received classrooms from the Kapuso Foundation back in 2007.
Fourteen years later, it had undergone much-needed rehabilitation that would help ensure the safety of the students and teachers in times of calamity.
"Dito sa school, 'yung sanga ng kahoy ng Narra may bumagsak doon sa may bubong. Pag umuulan tumutulo na 'yun," said Teacher Amy Garay.
She attended the school herself as a pupil, but now she has become an educator to serve the children of her community.
With the school's 20 classrooms repaired and as good as new, she is happy that her students can now enjoy the improved facilities.
"Sobrang saya kasi mapapalitan na ng bagong classroom, magiging comfortable."
The classrooms are now designed to withstand winds up to 280 kilometers per hour and an Intensity 8 earthquake.
