Tagaytay on lockdown? 'Fake news,' says city gov't

The local government of Tagaytay City on Thursday night branded as "fake news" information circulating on social media that the city will be under lockdown.

"Ang lockdown po ay ipinatupad noong nakaraang taon pa," it said on Facebook. "Maging mapanuri sa pagsheshare ng mga balita."

(The lockdown was imposed last year. Be more careful in sharing information.)

The city government then urged residents to observe minimum health standards amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tagaytay City, a popular tourist destination because of its relatively cooler temperature, is currently under modified general community quarantine.  —KBK, GMA News
