PNP looking into reports of armed people knocking on doors in Misamis Occ.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) is now looking into reports of alleged armed persons knocking on doors of some households in Misamis Occidental.

The #Mindanao is currently trending on Twitter particularly due to claims that a cult or an armed group of people are knocking on doors of houses in Ozamiz City in the middle of the night.

“We’ll have to secure, perhaps, initial information from the regional director of PRO (Police Regional Office) 10. Rest assured such information will be communicated specifically to concerned individuals affected,” PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Ildebrandi Usana said during state-run PTV’s Laging Handa briefing on Saturday.

Usana said if the armed persons are associated with leftist organizations, “the NPA (New People’s Army) in particular, we’ll see to it that appropriate action will be taken by the police.”

“Kung ito naman po ay maituturing na mga nasa hanay ng gobyerno (If they are from the government’s rank) then it will also have to be validated based on pieces of evidence that we can gather from there,” he said. -MDM, GMA News
