Wesmincom acquires 8 new vehicles for logistics, technical ops

Eight new vehicles were added to the mobility assets of the Armed Forces of the Philippines' Western Mindanao Command (Wesmincom) on Friday.

In a statement, Wesmincom said a blessing ceremony was held for its newly acquired vehicles at the Parade Ground in Camp Navarro, Zamboanga City.

The ceremony was presided over by the Command Catholic Chaplain Lieutenant Colonel Jose Españo and was attended by the officers, enlisted personnel, and civilian human resources of the command.

According to Wesmincom, the new assets included:

  • three KM250 light utility trucks, which were funded through the AFP Modernization Program and issued to the command by higher headquarters;
  • three Ford Rangers issued under the Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics in AFP’s issuance directive dated October 5, 2020;
  • a Toyota Coaster Van donated by the AFP Mutual Benefits Association Incorporated (AFPMBAI); and
  • a Toyota Avanza acquired through the utilization of the command’s Trust Receipts.

Wesmincom commander Lieutenant General Corleto Vinluan Jr. said the new vehicles would augment their mobility requirements for the day-to-day logistics and technical operations. — DVM, GMA News
