122 Cabuyao residents to face raps for receiving financial aid twice
A total of 122 residents of Cabuyao, Laguna will face complaints after they received twice the amount of financial assistance for low-income families during the enhanced community quarantine, the local government said Monday.
According to John Consulta's "24 Oras" report, Cabuyao officials found duplicate names in their cash aid database.
Because of this, over a hundred residents ended up receiving almost half a million in financial aid.

Rudy Derez Jr., head of Cabuyao's Task Force Disiplina, said the Department of the Interior and Local Government would take legal action against the recipients.
"DILG and the City Legal Officer will file cases for those who got a doubled amount of cash aid and those who showed this illegal act just to get ahead of their fellow residents," Derez said in Filipino.
Residents who received twice the amount of cash aid were given 24 hours to return the excess amount to the Cabuyao government.
Cabuyao Mayor Mel Gecolea, for his part, said they reallocated excess funds from the City Risk Reduction Fund to make sure that their constituents in need of assistance would be given cash aid.
Areas included in the NCR plus bubble, including Laguna, were placed under a modified enhanced community quarantine until April 30. The government announced that they would provide those badly affected by the MECQ with cash aid - P1,000 per individual or P4,000 per family. — Consuelo Marquez/DVM, GMA News
