Man dies after being hit by truck’s runaway tire

A man in Dasmariñas, Cavite has died after being hit by a tire that flew loose from a truck.

The CCTV footage shown on “24 Oras Weekend” shows Ariel De Guzman and another bystander, pregnant Gerlyn Catronuevo, standing beside a parked jeep on the side of the road.

Suddenly, a tire can be seen coming loose from a moving truck and hurtling their way.

De Guzman’s body was caught in between the tire and the jeep. He was brought to the hospital but was declared dead shortly after. Catronuevo was also hurt in the incident.

According to the report, the truck company and De Guzman’s family have already come to an agreement. — Franchesca Viernes/BM, GMA News
