LTO employee killed, woman hurt in Isabela road mishap
A member of the Land Transportation Office (LTO)âs Flying Squad was killed while his female companion was seriously injured after they figured in a road mishap in Isabela province Friday night. Radio dzRH reported Saturday morning that police identified the fatality as Henry Nicolas Jr, 29, a resident of Solano town in Nueva Vizcaya province. The report said he was a part of the LTO's flying squad that apprehends traffic violators in Metro Manila. Now in critical condition at the Cagayan Valley Sanitarium is Elena Sanchez, who was with Nicolas in his Honda Wave motorcycle. Police are now looking for the driver of an Anfra utility vehicle that escaped after the incident. Initial investigation showed the incident occurred at about 8 p.m. along the highway in Batal village, Santiago City, Isabela province. Nicolas and Sanchez had just left a gas station and were cruising along the main highway when the Anfra, which had just overtaken another vehicle in the opposite lane, hit Nicolas's motorcycle head-on. Police investigators said Nicolas and Sanchez, who had no helmets, suffered injuries in the face and head. - GMANews.TV
