Batanes eases COVID-19 quarantine protocols
The local government of Batanes on Friday announced the easing of quarantine protocols in the province, but stressed that minimum health standards against COVID-19 should still be observed.
It said that the provincial Executive Order No. 18 will be lifted today (Friday) at 12:30 p.m. This means the movement of all individuals is no longer restricted and that travel or boarder pass for inter-municipal travel is no longer required.
It also allowed the full operation of public transport within the province.
Further, business establishments can operate 24/7, including dine-in restaurants, provided that these businesses observed the minimum health standards. They will be strictly monitored by the Municipal COVID-19 Task Force and the Department of Trade and Industry for their strict compliance.
When it comes to mass gathering, an approval or permit must be obtained first from the concerned municipal mayor. These gatherings include weddings, family celebrations, fiestas, parades, government and cultural activities, and religious events, among others.
All barangay units are also tasked to monitor these gatherings and activities.
Meanwhile, all other protocols and regulations applicable to modified general community quarantine shall be observed.
