15 Bulacan cops in bogus anti-drug ops already dismissed from service —Eleazar

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar  said the 15 cops in fabricated drug operations in Bulacan have been dismissed from the service since June.

Eleazar made the statement Wednesday after seven of the police officers were charged with murder and arbitrary detention before a Bulacan court for allegedly detaining and killing six civilians in fake operations in February 2020.

“Ako mismo ang pumirma ng desisyon na tanggalin sa serbisyo ang mga pulis na ito (I am the one who actually signed the document removing these cops from the service),” he said in a statement.

The then chief of police of San Jose del Monte City, Police Lieutenant Colonel Gil Domingo, was punished with six-month suspension for command responsibility, the PNP said.

Eleazar said the PNP's investigation proved that the cops planted drugs and firearms to make it appear that the victims were drug personalities and the operations legitimate.

The dismissed cops were identified as follows:

  • Police Staff Sergeant Benjie Enconado and
  • Police Staff Sergeant Irwin Joy Yuson
  • Police Corporal Marlon Martus
  • Police Corporal Edmund Catubay Jr.
  • Police Corporal Harvy Albino
  • Police Corporal Herbert Hernandez
  • Patrolman Rusco Madla
  • Police Major Leo dela Rosa
  • Police Staff Sergeant Jayson Legaspi
  • Police Corporal Jay Marc Leoncio
  • Police Corporal Constante Escalante Jr.
  • Police Corporal Raymond Bayan
  • Police Corporal Paul Malgapo
  • Police Corporal Randy Camito
  • Patrolman Erwin Sabido

Citing the Internal Affairs Service, the PNP said the six victims were just passing by the area where the cops were conducting anti-illegal drugs operations when they were all arrested on February 13.

The victims were brought  to the police station where they were hogtied and detained but they were not booked for any offense, according to the PNP.

On February 18, the PNP said the victims were brought to a secluded area in Barangay Gaya-Gaya, San Jose del Monte City where they were shot.—Joviland Rita/AOL, GMA News
