Some public hospitals set up patient beds in parking lot, chapel amid COVID-19 surge
As the country battles a surge in COVID-19 cases due to the spread of the Delta variant, some hospitals have to find more spaces to care for their growing number of patients.
According to a report on "24 Oras," Thursday, the Ospital ng Biñan in Laguna set up patient beds in the hospital parking lot.
"Ginagawa na lang po namin ng paraan lahat-lahat pong 'yan para lang po mabigay namin ang pangangailangan ng mga tao," said Nurse Supervisor Cleofe Ramos.
["We do all the ways we can think of to address the needs of the people."]
Meanwhile, the Quezon City General Hospital set up 21 beds in its chapel and made it into a COVID-19 ward.
"We thought of opening up or using the chapel kasi bukod sa ito ay malinis, maluwag, maaliwalas, well-ventilated siya," said hospital director Dr. Josephine Sabando.
["We thought of opening up or using the chapel because aside from it is clean, it is also spacious and well-ventilated."]
