Cops, soldiers find warehouse full of high-powered guns, arrest 7 suspects
The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) and military personnel discovered a warehouse in Sta. Maria, Bulacan that was used to store several high-powered firearms.
In Marisol Abdurahman's "24 Oras" report, the NCRPO and military personnel raided the warehouse and found the guns placed inside sacks and boxes. Many of the guns are caliber .50 and M16 rifles.
AFP spokesperson Lt. Col. Ramon Zagala said they will conduct an investigation to determine the source of the firearms.
NCRPO chief Police Major General Vicente Danao Jr., meanwhile, said the firearms are usually distributed in Mindanao and other parts of the country.
Seven people, including a married couple, are arrested in the raid. One of the suspects even admitted that his late father was the one selling the guns.
The suspects will be facing complaints for violation of provisions of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act. -- Consuelo Marquez/BAP, GMA News
