Bustos Dam in Bulacan releases water; LGUs call for vigilance
The Bustos Dam in Bulacan released excess water on Wednesday after days of heavy rain from Tropical Depression Lannie.
According to a report from Balitanghali, the Bustos Dam has opened three gates in parts of Bustos, and San Rafael in Bulacan.
Based on the latest information, the water level in Bustos Dam was at its spilling level at 17.70 meters.
Authorities advised residents in low-lying communities near Bustos and San Rafael areas to remain vigilant against the possible heavy rains and flash floods.
State weather bureau PAGASA reported that Tropical Depression Lannie exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Wednesday morning.
In its 11 a.m. bulletin, the state weather bureau said Lannie was located 770 kilometers west of Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro, or 670 km west of Subic, Zambales as of 10 a.m.
According to the PAGASA, Lannie’s trough is expected to bring rains over Metro Manila, Central and Southern Luzon, Antique, and Aklan. —LBG, GMA News
