6 suspected robbers killed in shootout with Antipolo cops

Six suspected robbers were killed in a shootout early Thursday morning with the police along Marcos Highway in Sitio Boso-Boso, Barangay San Jose in Antipolo City, Mark Makalalad reported for Super Radyo's DZBB.

According to initial police investigation, the suspects tried to rob a gasoline station at Sitio Boso-Boso a few minutes after 1 a.m.

A police officer on patrol chanced upon the group, who also saw him. The suspects fired at the police officer and this resulted in a chase and a shootout.

The Scene Of the Crime Operatives or SOCO personnel are still at the crime scene and the suspects have not yet been identified as of posting. 

There were more than 40 spent shells at the site.  -- BAP, GMA News
