Fishing boat proves no match for big waves of Pangasinan sea

Big waves slammed a fishing boat just minutes before it left the shore of Patar Beach in Bolinao, Pangasinan, sending its debris into the waters.

The sea accident was caught on drone camera by Milo Mendeguarin, who was a visitor at the resort, according to a report by Jasmin Gabriel-Galban of GMA Regional TV.

The two fishermen manning the boat were immediately rescued to safety.

Mendeguarin said seven fishing boats were supposed to sail that day.

“Yung tatlo pala, nakalusot sila kasi tinaymingan yung alon eh. Then yung apat na, siya na yung nadali kasi namatayan sila ng makina,” he said.

Dian Lovemore Carranza of Bolinao Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office said they monitor gale warnings for 24 hours and immediately issue alerts and discourage sailing during inclement weather. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/LDF, GMA News
