Basketball allowed in Cavite but with face shields pending gov't announcement —Remulla
Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla on Monday said basketball is now allowed in the province but only among full-vaccinated individuals.
Remulla made the announcement on Facebook after the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for Emerging Infectious Diseases placed the province under Alert Level 2.
As for whether or not the players should wear face shields, Remulla said they should pending the decision of the national government.
"Hindi pa klaro ito pero kailangan pa rin ng FACE SHIELD habang nag-lalaro. Abangan na lang ang abiso mula sa IATF," he said.
(It's not clear but face shield is still required while playing. Wait for advice from IATF.)
Malacañang announced on Saturday that Cavite is among the areas in the country that would be placed under Alert Level 2 from November 15 to 30.
According to IATF guidelines on Alert Level 2, indoor facilities are only allowed 50% capacity provided that customers are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, while outdoor areas are at 70%.
Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque on Monday said President Rodrigo Duterte is expected to announce the government's new policy on face shield use during his Talk to the People on Monday night. —Giselle Ombay/KBK, GMA News
