Negros Oriental power utility suspends disconnection activities
Negros Oriental II Electric Cooperative or Noreco II has announced the suspension of disconnection activities this week following the onslaught of Typhoon Odette late last week.
In a public advisory, the power utility company also said the due date of payment for the month of December is extended.
Moreover, the company will not impose penalty fees for delayed payments this month.
"November 2021 billings with the due date starting December 9, 2021 can pay their bills on or before December 29, 2021, without penalties," the company said.
The electrification coverage of Noreco II is from Pamplona to Basay in Negros Oriental, including Dumaguete City.
Power service was interrupted last week as Typhoon Odette barreled through Negros island late last week.
Noreco II General Manager Fe Marie Dicen Tagle has assured that restoration services are going on.
"We will continue with our power restoration efforts until all areas and households are energized. Thus, we seek your understanding and cooperation," she said in a statement.
A franchise-wide blackout occurred on Monday evening, Noreco announced, during the attempt to energize the line section of NGCP, the entire Amlan-Siaton 69kV transmission line tripped indicating fault in the transmission line.
After two hours, power supply has been restored from Calo in San Jose to the entire area of Sibulan, Dumaguete City, Valencia, Bacong, Dauin, Zamboanguita and Siaton. -- BAP, GMA News
