P3.4M worth of suspected shabu seized in Pampanga op —PNP

The Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized P3.4 million worth of suspected shabu in an anti-illegal drug operation in Mabalacat City, Pampanga on January 30, the police said Wednesday.

In a statement, the PNP said authorities arrested the suspect identified as Dennis Balaba, 45 years old.

Confiscated from him were five knot-tied transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing 500 grams.

The PNP is readying charges against the suspect for violations of Section 5 in relation to Sections 26 and 11 of Article 2 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

PNP chief General Dionardo Carlos said the police organization will keep its coordination with other concerned agencies to fight illegal drugs.

“The PNP will continue to coordinate with other law enforcement agencies in our aim to join forces in our drive against illegal drugs. The operation became successful because of the effective planning and intelligence gathering undertaken by the PNP and PDEA,”  he said. —Joviland Rita/KBK, GMA News
