Mindanao HUCs expected to improve to moderate risk by next week — OCTA
The OCTA Research group on Thursday said it expects most of the highly urbanized cities in Mindanao to improve to moderate risk by next week.
OCTA fellow Dr. Guido David said Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Davao City, General Santos, and Zamboanga City remain at high risk.
“With the observed downward trends in these cities, we expect most of them to be at moderate risk by next week,” he said in a tweet.
An average daily attack rate (ADAR) of 10.48 was recorded for Butuan, 11.77 for Cagayan de Oro, 13.61 for Davao City, 12.66 for General Santos, and 14.97 for Zamboanga City.
Cotabato City and Iligan at moderate risk as of Feb 9 2022. While the other HUCs in Mindanao are still at high risk, we expect most of them to improve to moderate risk by next week. @dzbb @DZAR1026 @allangatus @dzrhnews @News5PH @ali_sotto @NewsRmn @dwiz882 @EagleNews pic.twitter.com/sZKKxx4At4

Meanwhile, Cotabato and Iligan are now at moderate risk with an ADAR of 5.57 and 5.68, respectively.
High risk means the ADAR is more than 7 per 100,000 population while areas classified under moderate risk have an ADAR between 1 to 7.
All HUCs have a reproduction number that is less than 1.
The reproduction number refers to the number of people infected by one case. A reproduction number that is below 1 indicates that the transmission of the virus is slowing down.
